i’M tRACEY bREEDEN

Speaker, advisor, bestselling author, and wisdom keeper.

My nickname is Tornado—because I create safe spaces for transformation and unleash the superheroes within.

you are the superhero you’ve been waiting for.

I believe purpose often reveals itself in difficulty, uncertainty, and the things that break our hearts. Where is your heart pulling you to act? I help you follow that current—to activate your personal power and awaken the inner superhero ready to rise.

From intimate ceremonial circles to organizations across every sector, I share actionable strategies that protect what matters most while igniting transformation from within. Whether I’m delivering keynotes on digital and rideshare safety, consulting with organizations on comprehensive safety frameworks, or guiding individuals through sacred ritual and ancestral practices, the foundation remains constant: building resilience, clarity, and authentic power in an increasingly complex world.

I stand in a place of unwavering hope, committed to building collective momentum. In this sacred space—where Indigenous teachings meet digital wisdom, where tradition meets innovation—we remember that healing is not only personal, it is also communal. This is the ground where our reimagined selves and a better world emerge. This is where we rise, protecting and empowering each other, co-creating a world that reflects the dignity, equity, and possibility we all deserve.

From Heartbreak to High-Stakes Safety: My Superhero Journey.

I grew up in rural Oklahoma, in a loving home shaped by a culture that often told me who I should be—and that who I was wasn’t enough. Like so many others, I internalized those messages. But it was in the breaking of my heart that I found my purpose and my power.

From that place, I rose—with hope, courage, and a fierce commitment to my values. I chose disruption over silence, and freedom over fear. This awakening took me on a transformative journey from small-town America working on my dad’s used car lot to law enforcement to heading women’s safety at Uber and digital safety as VP of Safety at Match Group.

As a queer woman, leader, and wisdom keeper, I bridge the ancient wisdom of my Cherokee and Choctaw ancestry with proven expertise in protecting millions of users across rideshare and digital platforms—because true safety and empowerment require both technological innovation and spiritual grounding.

Today, I still choose disruption and freedom—every single day. I create safe, sacred spaces for myself and for others, walking beside those who are seeking to rise, expand, and remember their power along with the power of our ancestors. Because together, we are not only capable of creating a better version of ourselves—we are capable of building a better world.

Sometimes life throws you a bone; you meet a person who changes you for the better, who makes the world a better place and makes you believe you can leave a positive impact too. That’s Tracey Breeden. In the years I have known her, she has taught me how to not only approach change, but also to evoke it in ways that can make my world as a woman better for all of us.

Match-Striking for Beginners is one of the most important books I’ve had the honor of reading. I watched it grow from a flicker of an idea fueled by passion into the honest, thoughtful, raw, yet approachable, work it is now. This roadmap is filled with the truths that motivate us to want better for our world, as well as the ways in which we can do our part to get there.

I more than recommend, I insist.

The journey of becoming one’s self can be a challenging ride for women. Even having the courage to share our stories—raw, honest, and unfiltered—can be overwhelming, but this is how we truly find authentic connection. In this powerful narrative, Tracey creates a safe space for personal reflection, while providing tools to find our real voice and inspire us to act.

As the CEO of a global women’s travel community, the book inspires me to stand in a place of hope and ultimately create meaningful and much needed social change. After all, if not me, then who?

and chair of satw canada, tmac, and ttc herald

This book is a powerful reminder that each of us has the potential to spark change. It shows that with passion and determination, even the biggest challenges can be overcome, inspiring us to make a significant impact.

An essential read for anyone who dreams of making a positive difference in the world.

While reading Tracey’s book, I was constantly presented with the opportunity to reflect on being an outlier for 18 years. I was a Black female in an environment dominated by white men. My company at the time struggled greatly in human resources. Upper management would turn you into a target of condescension; you had to fix the problem of not “fitting in.”

I wish Match-Striking for Beginners had been available when I became an executive with the power to change things. I would have incorporated it into our training program; it would have resulted in a safer, more understanding environment for all. Tracey’s book is filled with powerful lessons that can be successfully applied across many workplace environments. For instance, education would benefit from the concepts Tracey presents, welcoming the fact all children are different so shouldn’t be taught alike.

Match-Striking for Beginners is a compelling book that will take those that are narrow-minded to open-minded, provide clarity to those who feel trapped and invisible who feel dismissed, anxious, and frightened, giving them hope that they can change things rather than quit life. Tracey’s book lets you know it’s okay to be who you are because you are valued and safe.

Getting to know Tracey Breeden in real life is such a joy. But reading Tracey’s story and wisdom through these pages is the second-best thing! From personal tales in childhood to making change in professional settings as an adult, Tracey shows us that making an impact is possible if we’re willing to speak out. Packed with actionable tips and real-life examples, this book will leave you feeling inspired, empowered, and ready to stand up for what you believe in.

I am thrilled to see this book come to life! As someone who: 1) believes in Tracey’s vision, 2) needs inspiration to act, and 3) could use a framework for delivering on social change, this book is exactly what I (and so many others) need. The tools, the encouragement, the inspiration garnered from Tracey’s lived experiences and other anecdotes, all of it together in one place is going to provide so many people with opportunities to create social change— many who may not otherwise be able to deliver on it.

– Jessica Johnson, Director of Product at match group

Tracey’s passion and desire to create positive change in the world is always glaringly obvious in any conversation you have with her. In this book, Tracey does a beautiful job of helping you to feel the same desire for change as she does. Tracey doesn’t just put statistics in front of you but pairs the painful reality of marginalized groups with actionable tools so that you walk away feeling like you truly can make a difference.

– Dianni Hall, podcast producer

I had the great fortune of meeting Tracey Breeden through a leadership program that I was facilitating at Uber. The program ended and that was the beginning of a friendship, sisterhood, and commitment to support each other as we lean into our individual and collective work to be a part of much needed systemic change. Her book illuminates that we have a long way to go to create a harmonious and just world for everyone; no exceptions. And she has bravely offered her life stories in service of shining a light on things we prefer to not see or know about. It also emphasizes what it means to live aligned with values, purpose, and a vision of something better. The best part is that she does not leave us there but rather creates a roadmap and tools for making change happen. And gives us the much needed hope that it can happen.

Match-Striking for Beginners is a unique book in the self-improvement space—an inspirational, actionable, and supportive guide to identifying and developing the unique superpower that will propel you forward in life and work. Tracey’s career path is not typical, yet the personal stories she uses to demonstrate how she found and used her unique power to make change are entirely relatable. We had the good fortune to work with Tracey in a number of capacities and learned something new every time. Whether you are in the workforce already, or just entering, Match-Striking for Beginners is a must read.

INSPIRED! If you don’t walk away feeling like that after reading this book, then you might want to read it again. Tracey’s personal anecdotes and vision are clear and social change is what we all need! From start to finish you can’t put it down and by the end you are trying to figure out how to help others you may have overlooked in the past. This book is about helping ALL people and I hope it is something that you strive for now too.

I Don’t Just Inspire, I Activate!

Keynotes & Speaking

I bring the rare perspective of someone who has investigated the crimes that tech now works to prevent at global scale. As a former detective and Medal of Valor recipient who went on to lead trust & safety at Match Group and Uber, I deliver transformational keynotes. By weaving ancestral wisdom with frontline experience and executive leadership, I help audiences reimagine what’s possible when indigenous practices of community care meet cutting-edge innovation. I’ve lived the path I share—navigating loss, identity, and reinvention from frontline public servant to leading global safety at Silicon Valley’s biggest platforms. Through it all, I discovered how to activate inner strength, ground myself in hope through my ancestral practices, and transform adversity into fuel. Whether addressing Fortune 500 companies on building ethical AI and preventing tech-facilitated abuse, teaching digital safety to vulnerable groups, or empowering people to thrive through uncertainty and change, I deliver practical frameworks backed by proven results—like reducing platform abuse by 10%+, building safety programs across 700+ global markets, and creating federal legislation that protects lives.

Ready To Build Safer Digital Spaces?

Advising organizations

I work with companies, governments, legal practices, and nonprofits who are committed to making digital spaces safer and advancing accountability. Whether you’re building safety products, navigating complex regulatory environments, addressing platform safety challenges, or advocating for survivors, I bring a perspective no other consultant can offer: I’ve built safety programs at Fortune 500 companies (Uber, Match Group), investigated the crimes those programs work to prevent (14 years law enforcement), and advised governments on legislation that became law (UK, EU, US). My clients benefit from someone who understands technology, law enforcement, policy, and survivor advocacy at the highest levels.

Ready To Rise Through Transition and Uncertainty?

Rise Experiences

In the sacred desert landscapes and transformative retreat spaces, I create ceremonial experiences in nature that awaken deep interconnectedness and offer soulful practices for navigating life’s uncertainties. These experiences blend ceremonial practices rooted in my Cherokee and Choctaw traditions with contemporary tools for healing and growth. Whether through intimate one-on-one desert ceremonies or immersive group retreats, I guide you through powerful rituals – from grief, rage and release ceremonies to celebrations of gratitude, power and hope – and can also customize ceremonies for your unique journey. You are welcome exactly as you are, and your beloved pets are welcome too. Together, we create a sacred space where you can release what no longer serves, restore, and rise with renewed strength and hope. This is where you learn to not just survive but thrive through difficulty, uncertainty, and the daily struggles of life, discovering the profound healing that comes from reconnecting with yourself, others, and the natural world.

From Crime Scenes to Corporate Boardrooms: A Safety Leader’s Journey

I’ve lived my life dedicated to serving and empowering people—from investigating the crimes that tech now works to prevent, to protecting millions of users at global scale, to guiding individuals through sacred ceremonies of transformation.

My journey from small-town Oklahoma to Silicon Valley leadership wasn’t just a career path—it was a calling to create safety and activate power wherever it’s needed most. As a Medal of Valor recipient who served 14 years in law enforcement specializing in sexual assault and domestic violence, I brought that frontline understanding of tech-facilitated abuse to the tech industry as Uber’s first Head of Women’s Safety and Gender-Based Violence. There, I conceived and built the company’s first global team dedicated to protecting women and vulnerable populations, pioneering digital and in real life safety initiatives across 6 continents and 700+ markets.

At Match Group—home to Tinder, Hinge, and OkCupid—I served as Vice President, Head of Safety and Social Advocacy, establishing the company’s first centralized Trust & Safety program focused on preventing tech-facilitated abuse and advancing digital safety. Leading a global team of experts across 15+ brands, I drove strategies that reduced platform abuse by 10%+ while serving millions of users seeking connection.

But my work extends beyond corporate boardrooms. Rooted in my Cherokee and Choctaw ancestry, I bridge ancient wisdom with cutting-edge expertise, creating comprehensive approaches to safety, healing, and empowerment. Whether I’m delivering keynotes on digital safety, advising organizations on building protective cultures, or holding sacred space for individuals to release, restore, and rise, the foundation remains the same: creating safe spaces where people are empowered with the knowledge and practices they need to thrive.

Today, as founder and owner of Disrupt the Landing, LLC, I offer transformational speaking, strategic consulting, and sacred ceremonial experiences for individuals, organizations, and communities ready to awaken their inner superhero and create lasting change. Because when we create safety for one, prioritizing the most vulnerable, we create safety for all.
